Blogger's Remorse
The eternal conflict between blogging and journaling continues. Motivation for journaling has been strong the past couple weeks, due mainly to a gorgeous ink and pen set I got for graduation. Nothing encourages creativity like the chance to write in 12 different colors of fine ink. I was considering whether or not to dissolve my blog entirely, to devote all my time to eloquent introspection on parchment paper. However, I have decided that blogging will be very therapeutic when I move to Chicago and have no friends to talk to. Besides, sometimes you just have to share things with the world, and blogging gives me that perfect opportunity.
On the Harry Potter phenomena appearing globally tonight: Very excited about the whole thing. Not excited enough to go to those 12:01 am parties at Barnes and Noble, but excited enough to purchase it as soon as possible, and in the meantime to avoid all conversations and websites that would leak plot hints. Unfortunately, I will have to avoid Dev's blog for the next two weeks. Sorry, dear, but you'll hear from me as soon as I hit the last page of HP6. Oh, and a note: I think that Ginny will die in this installment. Either that, or another one of the Weasleys. I can't shake the feeling that Rowling created such a huge family so a few of them could get picked off in the last two novels. We'll see if my hypothesis holds water.
Travis comes home in 15 days! Hooray! He's bringing Lindsey with him, so she can get to know the family and Idaho for a couple days. I had a very favorable impression of her the last time I met her. I think she's the first girlfriend of Travis' that I've actually enjoyed hanging out with. A very sweet and grounded girl. I like her.
Another happy occasion: I only have five more days at Henny Penny! Oh, the joy! Not that it's a bad place to work, but something about the place just doesn't sit well with me, like a piece of baklava that has sat out on the counter overnight and is eaten first thing in the morning. Two days ago, another one of the girls at HP gave Deb (the boss) her two weeks' notice, and Deb got so angry that she fired her on the spot. Yeah, it's a little uncomfortable there. Plus, when I'm done, I'll probably never have another workday that starts at 7:00 am ever again! Bliss!
